STUDIO RENTAL FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Zero Tolerance

1.Black Umbrella has a ZERO tolerance policy for conflict, violence, or harassment.

2.No guns, knives, mace or weapons are allowed at any time at the Studio.

3.No alcoholic beverages, non-prescription or illegal drugs.

4.No one will be admitted who is intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances.

5.Smoking must be done in designated smoking areas and cigarettes disposed of in ashtrays.

6.Music is to be kept at reasonable levels. 

7.Do not adjust the thermostat.

8.Areas with (Do not trespassing sign) must be respected, trespassing will occur in EXTRA $100 FEE on top of your booking.

9.Food is NOT permitted inside of the studio, (Dry Snacks are allowed).

10.All hard to clean materials are to be approved in advance. An additional refundable damage deposit
might be required.

11.Shoes must be covered with covers at all times inside the studio, unless actively filming or shooting
(shoe tape must be applied by customer prior walking into the CYC floor). 

12.Music is to be kept at reasonable levels.

13.NO PETS allowed without prior consent of a Studio Representative. Species and breed must be specified.

14.Maximum of five (5) people in Client’s party, including the Client.

15.Any theft of property will result in prosecution in accordance with local law enforcement.

16.Creators must advise their customer of studio rules before booking.

17.Legal Form of ID, or License will be requested per each adult person inside the studio.

18.Well Behave Minors are only allowed in the studio only if accompanied by a responsible adult,
(Tutor), Parent, and is responsible for any damage caused by the children.

19.Do not open the EMERGENCY DOOR unless there is an emergency. Doing so without permission will cause immediate termination of the contract or an extra $50 fee.

20.We do our best to accommodate and provide professional, friendly, and honest services to all clients, for this reason, *we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Booking and Reservations

In order to confirm and hold a reservation, all rental fees, plus any cleaning/damage deposits must be paid in full at the time of booking.

In the case of additional equipment rental or props added on the shoot day, the rental deposit/ whole fee must be paid by cash/credit card at the time of rental by the Client. 

Please note that set up and break-down time should be included within your booking rental time. Ensure to plan accordingly to make the most of your studio time.

Rental periods are pre-arranged at the time of booking. The Client’s rental time begins promptly at the designated starting time and ends promptly at the designated ending time.

Time includes set up and break-down.

The Studio must be cleaned and vacated by the end of the rental period. No prior drop-off and/or pick-up after completion of shoot, of equipment, props, etc. unless negotiated at time of rental contract.  *Additional fees may apply.

Studio rental fee is based on the use of strobe lighting. If hot lights are used there will be an additional power usage fee charged according to the current rate.

The Client agrees to leave the Premises and all contents and fixtures in the same condition as they were when Client arrived. The Studio will dispose of trash collected in the supplied trash cans. The Client must discard large items, such as props and set pieces, in the metal disposal bin. Disposal of garbage due to large sets will accrue an additional fee per full load.

All items brought to the Premises by Client are to be removed by Client. Items left after 7 days will be assumed abandoned and may be discarded or kept by the Studio for Studio use, with no compensation due to the Client, at the discretion of the Studio.

If Client does not return Premises to the order and cleanliness found when Client arrived, Studio will charge at minimum a $150.00 cleaning fee to be withheld from the cleaning/damage deposit.

The Studio agrees to provide equipment in good working order, but makes no special guarantees as to said equipment’s functionality or suitability to Client’s purposes. Client shall notify the Studio immediately of any malfunction, damage or other issues with the equipment.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Cancellations of confirmed bookings will result in the following charges:

The Studio is not liable for acts out of its control that affect the shoot, such as building equipment failures, power outages, weather, acts of God or emergencies. In such cases, the Studio will move your rental to a future day.

 

* All cancellation fees are final. No refunds will be issued for any reason.

* All prepaid equipment rental fees, cleaning, and damage deposits will be refunded in full, minus 4% credit card fee.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the booking date and time will be charged the full fee of the basic studio rental.  *However, customers are allowed to reschedule for free.

All refunds will be made to the credit card used for the original booking. The Studio reserves the right to charge a 4% processing fee, or the current market rate, for the refund of any basic rental fee due to cancellation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance

Businesses, Corporations, Production Companies and other legal entities may be required, prior to book/rental, to present a certificate of general liability insurance naming Black Umbrella LLC.

As additionally insured on the dates of the rental. If so required, Client’s liability insurance shall be deemed primary and noncontributory insurance in the event of any claim or suit. Liability insurance shall be Commercial General Liability with a minimum of $1,000,000 (one million) per occurrence & annual aggregate. injury or loss to Client, his party or possessions while on the Premises.

Client shall be solely responsible for any damage to the Studio’s property or equipment that occurs during the time Client or Client’s party occupies the Premises.

Damage deposits will be held until repairs can be made.

If the damage exceeds the amount of the damage deposit, Client agrees to pay reasonable additional repair costs to bring damaged equipment back to working condition. Client agrees to pay for damage to the Premises including spills, excessive wear, marks or stains on furniture, fixtures or
painted surfaces.

Liability

Client understands and agrees to all studio rules. Client agrees to enforce all rules to any person with Client at all times.

Use of Studio’s Premises and equipment is at Client’s risk.

  1. Client hereby agrees that the Studio will not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damage, All persons and activity on the Studio’s Premisses may be video recorded for security usage. All persons and activity on the Studio’s Premisses may be video recorded for security purposes at all times.
  2. Client holds harmless and indemnifies the Studio and its owners, agents, representatives, associates, officers, employees, guests and tenants against any suit, claim, loss, accident, judgment, fine, injury or damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees. This indemnification shall continue in full force and effect during and after the term of the rental for such causes arising during the term of the rental.

This is a shared studio and we maintain a professional environment. Client shall be solely responsible for the conduct and welfare of all persons accompanying Client while on the Studio’s Premises. Client agrees that a Studio representative may, at Studio’s sole discretion, be present at all times.

If the representative observes or otherwise becomes aware of dangerous, pornographic, illegal or negligent practices or activities, the representative reserves the right to stop the shoot and may require Client and Client’s party to leave immediately. In such cases no refund will be given for unused time. However, the Studio and its representatives assume no responsibility to act in such cases.

1. Client is solely responsible for verifying that all photographic subjects are of legal age.

2. The Studio has no responsibility to determine or verify the age of participants in the client’s activities but reserves the right to demand proof of parental consent if models or photographic subjects are
under the age of twenty one (21) and to end those activities if the Studio becomes aware that legal
age violations are occurring.

3.The Studio is not liable in the case of an invalid ID or any other form of age verification.
